We have a couple of prime spots available on our website, where you can
advertise your business in the form of a short text ad (a small photo is optional)
and we are open to other suggestions.
Priority
will be given to businesses that are based in North Northumberland, but all offers
will be considered.
The NNOuk.com website has been online continuously since 1997
(originally as BelfordWEB) and that longevity is one the reasons why search engines
like it. Our site appears in the top ten results
for a wide range of popular Northumberland-related search terms.
For
example, at the time of writing, NNOuk.com is the number one search result
on Google for 'belford northumberland', 'bamburgh beaches' and 'northumbrian
villages'. It is placed number five on Bing (the Microsoft search engine) for
'embleton', number seven for 'alnwick fair' and number two for 'holy island wildlife'.
Visitors who find a website through a search engine
are the most likely to click on ads.
Currently the
BBC, Daily Mail and The Independent link to us on their sites, as do many
others. And we must mention the Berwick
Avertiser which got us off to a cracking start with an article back in 1997 (shown below).
Our site attracts around 80 unique
visitors each day, 30,000 a year.
About one in every fifteen visitors to the site clicks on an ad. A very good
click-through rate. In recent years these ads have been provided mainly by Google
and we will continue to run Google ads.
We believe that in the thirteen years since it began, North Northumberland
Online (known as BelfordWEB until 2001) has generated a vast amount
of income for the local economy.
During that time the site has never received any funding
or support from borough or parish
councils and regional tourist or development agencies.
At the time of writing, the official visitor site for Northumberland barely
mentions popular holiday destinations such as Belford and doesn't
link out to local websites that do. We think that is quite worrying...
Whereas our site features exclusive audio and video of the Belford area, with
more to come as part of our redesign in spring 2010.
Since 1997, our site has been funded entirely by advertising.
We would like to thank the local businesses that have supported North
Northumberland Online in the past and hope you will consider
doing so in the future by placing an ad.
For £125 you can have an ad on the front page for a year. Or for £50
a listing with link and photo in the new business and accommodation sections
that will be online this spring. If you have advertised with us at any time over
the past 13 years you get a £5 discount.
