Local history

Sheep on West Street, Belford

In the past we have received a large number of e-mails requesting detailed historical information about north Northumberland, family names and ancestors who lived in the area.

Unfortunately we don't have anyone here who is an expert in this field and any research of this type is extremely time-consuming. Sadly, we just can't do it.

In the column on the right, you'll find some avenues that you may like to explore and we wish you every success in your search for information.

Belford town survey 1995

Belford Town Survey 1995In 1995, the Belford Local History Society completed a Survey of Belford. They allowed us to format this fascinating document for the web and put it online.

We have been proud to host it since 1997.
